Hi! I’m Tasshin! ๐Ÿ™

Hi! I’m Tasshin! I’m an extremely online pilgrim wandering this precious world for the benefit of all beings. ๐Ÿ’—

I live a simple life, dedicating my life to being of service, supported by the generosity of others.

I have three main endeavors: spreading love, following my curiosity, and empowering others.

Love โค๏ธ

Loving kindness, or mettฤ, is a meditation technique where you intentionally cultivate positive, happy, loving thoughts and feelings: thoughts of good will towards yourself and others, and feelings of happiness, unconditional love, joy, and care. Loving kindness is relatively easy, extremely enjoyable โ€“ even blissful โ€“ and it can genuinely change your life.

Curiosity ๐Ÿ”Ž

I explore my curiosity through my reading, writing, and conversations. It’s hard to know in advance where following my curiosity will lead me – but typically it ends up somewhere enjoyable, fascinating, and – I believe – beneficial for the world.

Empowerment ๐Ÿ’ช

I aspire to see and bring out the best in all beings. This involves perceiving who people are as accurately as I can; seeing the best in them; understanding their strengths, weaknesses, growth edges, service projects; and then taking actionable steps to empower them to serve others. This whole processโ€”seeing someone deeply, and helping them to live their vowโ€”is something I refer to asย empowerment.

Licensing ๐Ÿ’ผ

I like to use Creative Commons as much as possible for my projects. I want to benefit as many people as possible, and Creative Commons is a wonderful vehicle for enabling that. You can learn more about the licensing for my writings and projects here.

Generosity ๐Ÿ™‡โ€โ™‚๏ธ

Generosity makes my life and work possible. You can support my work through Patreon. Thank you! May this work benefit all beings. ๐Ÿ™

My Name

My name, Tasshin (้”็œŸ) means to reach or achieve truth. You can pronounce it โ€œtoss shinโ€ (thatโ€™s the Americanized pronunciation) or โ€œtoss sheenโ€ (the Japanese pronunciation). I received this name in 2018, when I took bodhisattva vows with my teachers Shinzen Young and Soryu Forall.
