Journal with Tasshin!

I want to help U develop a journaling habit that can stick, that will guide U to greater and greater introspection! I’ll do that by providing an interactive, social journal—a journal that listens to U, learns and cares about U, asks U questions, provides encouragement or feedback.

In 2020, I had a goal to journal more. I had a sense that more reflection would help me with my life goals and emotions.

In the past, the approach of “having one physical journal that’s a nice notebook” or even “having one digital journal” hadn’t stuck for me.

In the end, the thing that worked for me, personally, was to have as many possible journals as possible to journal in. A big physical journal, a small physical journal, and many many digital spaces: multiple note-taking apps, Twitter alts, Slack and Discord channels.

Each place had pros and cons, but I could use whichever was easiest or best suited my purpose. I just used whichever whenever, in whatever ways felt good. Over time, I converged on using a variety of Discord feeds and some physical notebooks, each with different purposes.

Gradually, journaling has become what is arguably my main spiritual or personal growth practice.

I really love journaling. Attending to the ups and downs of my heart, the ins and outs of my days, The major plot lines and the most significant minutiae makes me feel like my own very best friend.

There are so many different parts of my life, different endeavors and adventures I’m embarking on—journaling helps me to make sense of each of them, to integrate them into a beautiful, holistic life I’m proud and excited to be living.

Who?

If U feel called to start a journaling practice—if U know it will unlock a new level of introspection for U, and through it, a whole new vividness to your entire life—this could be for U.

If U have had trouble starting or maintaining a journaling practice in the past, or U feel blocked despite wanting to journal—this offering will be a great fit.

If U already have a journaling practice, where U journal every day and find immense rewards from it, this might not be a good fit.

If U hate computers, messages, email, and feel overwhelmed by them, it’s possible this might make U feel more overwhelmed. But then U can always use the Digital Productivity Coach, or hire me to help U with message inbox overflow…

If U are too busy—well, remember what the great Zen teachers have always said: “Journal in quiet silence for an hour a day. If you are too busy, journal for two hours.”

Format

Here’s how it will work.

U will do an intake form, sharing your desires, fears, and obstacles for starting a journaling practice.

We’ll agree on where and how U will try journaling, in a way that I can read your journals and reply. We’ll default to setting up a private Discord feed for U, but if U prefer email or text or voice message, that’s also possible.

(P.S. If U hate Discord’s interface, U aren’t alone. Here’s my Guide to Actually Enjoying Discord.)

U will journal regularly, aiming for at least five minutes a day, most days. I’ll read your journals asynchronously (typically within 24-48h of each entry) and react, comment, and ask questions as I feel called.

At the end of the month, we’ll do a call to discuss how it went, what worked for U with your journaling practice and what felt sticky, and whether and how U might move forward.

Outcome

After this program, U will have a regular journaling habit that helps U to understand your life, process your emotions, and guide your choices towards outcomes and goals and directions U will be delighted by.

Cost

This program costs $500 for one month. That includes asynchronous responses to your journal from me and one video call. It’s on U to make the most of this time by diving into your journaling practice.

If and when demand for this service goes up, I will increase the price to match it!

If U feel inspired to start a journaling practice, but don’t have the funds, or want to do it yourself, fear not! U can journal with just pen and paper. It’s tried and true!
